Step 1 - Training Text with illustrations provides a knowledge base. It can be used by the trainee in self-study or as lesson text in instructor-led sessions. The trainee will study this Training text and keep it for future reference.
Step 2 - The Knowledge Demonstration Exercise, a series of questions that cover the content of the Training Text. The cover includes a Completion Statement for record-keeping purposes. The trainee will complete this exercise, which test understanding of the Training Text.
Step 3 - A Practical Demonstration Exercise, found in the Administrative Guide, is conducted by an individual competent in the subject matter. The trainees are shown how to apply their knowledge. Site specific practices can be integrated into this exercise. Each trainee participates in this instructor-led Practical Demonstration Exercise which combines task knowledge with actual job performance.
Step 4 - The Skill Performance Exercise, consists of a task performance checklist designed to evaluate the trainee's actual performance of the specific task. A Completion Statement is included for record-keeping Each trainee will demonstrate their ability to perform the training objectives.
