After completion the student should be able to set up and use a cusum chart to
monitor real changes in level from aim. This would include:
1. setting up and
doing the calculations to fill in a cusum table;
2. setting up a quality
control graph for plotting cusum data;
3. constructing a cusum template and
using it to see if the cusum plot indicates a real shift from aim;
4.
resetting the cusum table and graph when a process correction has been made;
5. understanding that the cusum plot more quickly indicates a real shift from
aim than regular quality control charts.
Prerequisites - An understanding of average and standard deviation (Course Number 200) and the ability to read and plot graphs (Course Number 78).
