A review of how a typical business measures, analyzes and controls its financial performance; development by the trainee of a graphical representation of a basic formula to determine the return on investment of a business; definition of commonly-used business terms such as profit margin, earnings, cost, turnover, investment, etc.; and examples to illustrate how these specific concepts affect overall business performance. The trainee will learn how to apply these concepts in his or her own area of responsibility to improve the company's return on investment.
