Regrinding of drills, point modification for hard and soft materials, web thinning, chip breakers and carbide drills.
Trainee is required to regrind regular point general purpose drills to flat and long points for drilling hard and soft materials; to thin the web on worn drills for easier drilling; and to use chip breakers for ductile and soft materials.
Prerequisites - Knowledge of drill nomenclature and point inspection for cutting characteristics (Course Number 16).
